The Commercial Courts Act, 2015 was enacted to provide for the Constitution of Commercial Courts, Commercial Division in the Hon’ble High Court and their respective Appellate Court and Division, for the adjudication of commercial disputes. The act was enacted with the vision to accelerate economic role and to revamp, the Indian Judicial System with respect to the investor world.

Under sections 4 & 5 of the Commercial Courts Act, 2015, power has been vested in the Chief Justice of the Hon’ble High Court to constitute Commercial Division with single Bench and Commercial Appellate Division with Division Bench respectively.

Section 7 of the Commercial Courts Act, 2015 provides the Jurisdiction of the Commercial Division of Hon’ble High Court. Provision of Appeal from the Commercial Division is provided under section 13 of the Commercial Courts Act, 2015 and the Appeal shall lie before the Commercial Appellate Division of the Hon’ble High Court.
